HP Issues Power Cord Recall for Fire Risk

HP has announced a major voluntary recall of notebook, mini-notebook, and docking station power cords. The voluntary recall, issued on August 26th, 2014, affects over six million AC adapters provided with certain units that were sold between September 2010 and June 2012. HP believes that these power cords shipped with notebook or accessories may pose a fire risk.

The first step in determining if the AC adapter you have is included in this recall is to check the cord for the code LS-15 printed on it. The location is noted in the picture below.
